Don’t Stand For Sitting Still!

As sensory occupational therapists, we are always looking for ways kids can get movement needs met.  From “t-stools” to “move ‘n sit cushions” to chair balls and exercise balls to easels and slant boards and standing desks, we advocate a lot of options to support movement and attention.

In 2012, I’ve been introduced to products from 2 companies, Virco and VS that are really interesting and worth exploring, like the “Hokki stool”, pictured above, and PantoMove, pictured below.

I have known places that have bought cheaper alternatives to the Hokki stool and they either scratched the finish on the floor, upsetting the custodian, or have broken quickly.  Hokki stool is the best product of its type

This chair is the most comfortable chair I have ever sat in.  When I was in it, I felt supported and grounded.  I could, however, give myself gentle movement in all directions, as needed!

After you try the hokki stool, you will see how valuable it is.

To know what size to order, measure from the floor to the crease at the back of the knee and select the size that is closest to that
Since 2012, I have seen over a hundred students using these, with never a negative comment.  On most areas, it is best to purchase on Amazon, from Kaplan School Supply, or Worthington Direct
You can purchase one in the lower mainland at The Hokki TeamSteam-Studio Educational Environments www.steamstudio.ca. If you are part of a large organization and would like to introduce them, you might get a couple donated to your organization if you contact
